The 75 minute class will vary from Jivamukti, Vinyasa and Yin styles of yoga depending on the yoga instructor, but generally expect a guided yoga class that includes a well rounded flowing practice that weaves dynamic movement, yogic philosophy, Sanskrit chanting, meditation and (consent-based) skillful hands-on assists with a wide range of eclectic music. Each class is designed to help you reflect, heal and feel better, as well as empower fearless curiosity, increase self-acceptance, reconnect with your humanity and inspire spiritual activation.

Each class will include a free vegan dinner to be shared with friends and community after class.

Tuesday Yoga & Dinner - 6:30 pm

The classes will vary from Vinyasa to Hatha style yoga depending on the yoga instructor, but for each class you will be guided through 75 minutes of yoga designed to heal and reduce stress and anxiety. Classes may include a short kirtan (mantra chanting) before or after yoga.

Each class will include a free vegan dinner to be shared with friends and community after class.

Wednesday Yoga & Dinner - 6:30 pm

The classes will vary from Hatha or Vinyasa style yoga depending on the yoga instructor. Most Wednesdays, you can expect a 75 minute well-rounded Hatha yoga class, which will typically involve a set of physical yoga poses (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama). The yoga poses are typically practiced more slowly and with more static holds than a Vinyasa flow. Classes may include a short kirtan (mantra chanting) before or after yoga.

Each class will include a free vegan dinner to be shared with friends and community after class. Come to class hungry and be prepared to feast together mindfully in community!

Community

Thursday Morning Mantra Meditation - 6:00 am

Wednesdays 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM

Every Thursday morning join the Bhakti community for a group mantra meditation session. Mantra meditation is group chanting of the Maha Mantra (Hare Krishna), with the optional use of mala beads for Japa meditation. The session may include the use of instruments, such as the harmonium, mridanga (drum) and khartal (hand cymbals).

Come learn about, and harness the benefits of, chanting of mantras as a form of meditation, and begin your day with sadhana (spiritual practice) and satsang (community).

Every Mantra Meditation includes an Ayurvedic (vegetarian) breakfast following the meditation session.

Thursday Night Kirtan - 6:30 pm

Yoga Talks explores diverse perspectives, featuring special or in-house speakers, with discussions on the Bhagavad Gita, spiritual literature, and current events, fostering deep, reflective dialogue for everyone.

Each Sunday before and after the Yoga Talks, we will conduct Kirtan, or mantra meditation, a call-and-response chanting practice in Hinduism, blending sacred mantras with music and dancing. It fosters ecstatic joy and deep collective participation.

Following the Kirtan, please join us for an included healthy and hearty Ayurvedic (vegetarian) feast for dinner.

Bhakti Summer Hike - Saturday, June 14

Bhakti SF welcomes you to our next hiking retreat at the most beautiful Henry Cowell Redwood forest. Join us for a day of movement and exploration as we traverse through the beauty of nature, chant sacred mantras, and engage in heart-centered conversations.

This event is a fun opportunity to meet other Bhakti Yoga students and deepen your connection to Bhakti in a peaceful and natural environment.

What to expect

Carpools will leave from Bhakti SF at 8:30am on Saturday morning and return around 4:00pm. If you require a carpool from another location, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Bhakti Yoga Immersion - Saturday, June 28

Bhakti yoga immersions are a blissful opportunity to gather, connect and grow. Bhakti SF volunteers invite you for a rejuvenating afternoon of yoga, sound healing, satsang and a vegan/vegetarian feast.

This time we have invited special guest speaker Kula Pradipa to shed light on the practices of Bhakti yoga and his story. Time to reflect and elevate in good company at Bhakti SF.

What to expect:

45 mins yoga class and sound bath led by Chris Hill
45 mins satsang with Kula Pradipa
30 mins kirtan and group circle
Gourmet Karma-free meal

Special Guests:

• Kula Pradipa Das is a long standing practioner of bhakti yoga and recently moved to the Bay Area to work as a Universal Enlightenment and Flourishing Chaplain Associate at Stanford university. He was introduced to Eastern wisdom texts at a young age, leading to a period of monastic training and later studies in psychology and religion from Rutgers University, he studied at St. Stephens College, New Delhi for a year, before graduating from Rutgers in 2004. Until his move to Stanford, he had played a very active role as a chaplain, purohit and pujari at the Bhakti Center NYC, a spiritual and cultural center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. With a background in Hindu ritual and temple worship (pāñcharātra), he regularly performs traditional ceremonies (samskara) marking the junctures of life for his religious community.

The Bhakti Center SF is a true sanctuary for the soul! From the moment I walked in, I felt embraced by the warmth and love of this vibrant community. The atmosphere is peaceful yet uplifting, and every event is imbued with heart and intention.

The kirtans are absolutely magical—filled with devotion, joy, and connection. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and embody the principles of Bhakti Yoga with humility and grace.

The sense of community here is unparalleled, and I always leave feeling inspired and recharged. Highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the beautiful path of devotion and love!
